China Moon Strategies, LLC, is a consulting firm Jeff Moon founded in 2017 after leaving the Obama White House, where he served as Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for China Affairs and previously at the National Security Council.
Mr. Moon has more than three decades of Asia geopolitical experience, including ten years working in China in both the private and public sectors since his first visit in 1984. At Cisco Systems and Dolby, he was a Vice President assigned to Beijing, Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C. in roles focused on business in China.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Moon was a U.S. State Department diplomat who specialized in China affairs. He completed assignments to Beijing, Chengdu and Taipei, and in Washington to the China Desk and the predecessor of the Cyberspace Bureau. In his final Foreign Service assignment, he was Acting U.S. Ambassador in Nepal.
Mr. Moon began his career as an attorney at Skadden, Arps in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Columbia Law School.
